State Fire is currently looking for a full-time Fire Sprinkler Service/Inspection Tech based in Rock Springs, WY. Ideal candidates have a background and experience with fire sprinkler systems.
Your role as a Fire Sprinkler Service/Inspection Tech will include the following responsibilities:
· Conduct scheduled inspections of fire sprinkler systems to ensure they meet local, state, and national codes and standards, such as those set by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
· Inspect sprinkler heads, pipes, valves, alarms, and other components for proper function and signs of wear or damage.
· Perform functional tests on fire sprinkler systems to ensure they operate correctly in case of a fire.
· Test water flow, pressure, and alarm functionality to verify the system’s effectiveness.
· Carry out maintenance tasks, including cleaning sprinkler heads, lubricating moving parts, and replacing damaged or worn components.
· Repair or replace faulty parts to keep the system in optimal working condition.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1-2 years Fire Sprinkler Technician experience required.
· High School diploma, or equivalent.
· Possess, or can obtain, any applicable state licensing.
· Knowledge of fire and building codes, OSHA, and other regulations pertaining to the job. MSHA preferred.
· Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and alarm panels.
· Backflow repair and testing is desired, but State Fire will train and license the right individual.
· Basic computer and software skills.
· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, with acceptable driving record.
· Must have and maintain an acceptable national criminal background check.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment urinalysis test, and any further randomly selected tests.
· Ability to communicate effectively in English.
· Ability to work flexible hours and on-call, when necessary.
