Requirements:

  

· Ability to use standard hand/battery operated tools.

· Basic computer skills and knowledge of mobile devices and applications.

· Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.

· Ability to communicate effectively in English.

· Ability to provide excellent customer service to colleagues and customers.

· Ability to work flexible hours and on-call, when necessary.

· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, with acceptable driving record.

· Must have and maintain an acceptable national criminal background check.

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment urinalysis test, and any further randomly selected tests.

· Experience working mining vehicle fire suppression systems is preferred.


Physical Requirements:


· Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch or stoop for prolonged periods.

· Ability to operate a motor vehicle.

· Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding and stairs.

· Ability to move about in areas with limited space and difficult access.

· Ability to safely lift, transport and place objects up to 70 pounds, without assistance.

· Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.

State Fire is currently looking for a full-time Fire Suppression Technician based in Gillette, WY. Experience preferred, but willing to train the ideal candidate. Ideal candidates possess mechanical skills and possess a willingness to learn heavy equipment fire protection systems primarily for the mining industry. 

Your role as a Fire Suppression Technician will include the following responsibilities:

· Dry chemical, clean agent, and special hazard systems.

· Inspection and replacement of fire suppression tanks.

· Inspection and replacement of cartridges.

· Semi-annual inspection and replacement of cartridge seat washers ensuring hoses are secure and in good condition.

· Semi-annual battery replacements in control units and modules.

· Maintaining data log and control unit information.

· Electronic and manual actuator maintenance and testing to ensure proper functionality.

· Check squib dates and replace, when necessary, per manufacturer’s instructions. 

· Regular maintenance of discharge lines, nozzles and detection loops, and replacement of damaged parts when needed.

· Daily communication with site planner and utilization of company time-tracking and field service mobile applications.

· Regional travel with overnight stays to job sites for up to a week at time required.

$20-$24/hour DOE
