What You Need:

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use standard hand/battery-operated tools
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills
  • Ability to work independently and provide excellent customer service
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Mining vehicle fire suppression experience is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, or stoop for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Comfortable working indoors, outdoors, and in confined spaces
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding

Fire Suppression Technician
Location: Rock Springs, WY
Job Type: Full-Time

State Fire is looking for a Fire Suppression Technician to join our team in Rock Springs, WY. No experience? No problem. If you have mechanical skills and a strong work ethic, we’ll provide the training you need to become an expert in heavy equipment fire protection systems—primarily for the mining industry.

What You’ll Do:

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair fire suppression systems, including dry chemical and special hazard systems
  • Replace fire suppression tanks, cartridges, and key system components
  • Perform semi-annual inspections and maintenance on battery-powered control units
  • Conduct electronic and manual actuator testing
  • Maintain accurate records using company time-tracking and field service apps
  • Travel regionally, with overnight stays up to a week at a time
$20-$24/hour DOE
