Qualifications:

  • · 2+ years of experience with low voltage in fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and security preferred
  • · Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • · Ability to take direction and complete necessary documentation for all jobs.
  • · Ability to work alone to finish projects, as needed.
  • · Ability to work well with colleagues and subcontractors to maintain good working relationships and work efficiently.
  • · Ability to establish good working relationships with new and existing customers.
  • · Ability to communicate effectively in English and maintain good communication.
  • · Proficiency in hand tools and other trade specific tools and equipment.
  • · Organized, reliable, and self-motivated.
  • · Experience in other low voltage fields (audio, visual, phone, data, CATV, etc.) a plus.
  • · Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • · Ability to operate man lifts.
  • · Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, with acceptable driving record.
  • · Must have and maintain an acceptable national criminal background check.
  • · Must be able to pass a pre-employment urinalysis test, and any further randomly selected tests.

Physical Requirements:

  • · Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch or stoop for prolonged periods.
  • · Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • · Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding and stairs.
  • · Ability to move about in areas with limited space and difficult access.
  • · Ability to safely lift, transport and place objects up to 70 pounds, without assistance.
  • · Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.

State Fire is currently looking for a full-time Low Voltage Technician based in Salt Lake City, UT.

Your role as a Low Voltage Technician will include the following responsibilities:

  • · Support the installation and maintenance of fire alarm systems, access control, CCTV, and other low voltage systems.
  • · Maintain daily safety paperwork including, but not limited to, Field Level Risk Assessments, pre-operational vehicle inspections, pre-work job site safety inspections.
  • · Perform maintenance service calls, as needed.
  • · Respond to and assess emergency service or warranty calls.
  • · Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment for all construction and service jobs. 
  • · Lead the work of others, including subcontractors, to complete projects and service calls.
  • · Maintain good relationships with project managers and property managers.
  • · Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and main office staff in scheduling and ordering material and labor to complete projects.
